Useful Information

The PIR needs L and N to power itself; its switched-live output (L-out) feeds the lamp.

Most PIRs include a light-level (lux) setting and adjustable timer.

Important to know

  • Outdoor PIRs need suitable IP rating (e.g. IP44+) (512.2).
  • Earth outdoor metal fittings — consider TT/PME implications for outbuildings.
  • Remove electronic sensors before insulation testing.
