Procedure (GS38 / EAWR Reg 12-14)

1. Identify circuit. 2. Isolate. 3. Secure with lock and caution tag; keep the key. 4. Prove the tester on a proving unit. 5. Test between all conductors (L-N, L-E, N-E). 6. Re-prove the tester. Only then start work.

Equipment

Use a GS38-compliant two-pole voltage indicator, never a multimeter or non-contact tester alone.
