The order of tests in Chapter 64.

Dead tests

1. Continuity of protective conductors (R1+R2 / R2). 2. Continuity of ring final circuit conductors. 3. Insulation resistance. 4. Protection by SELV/PELV/separation. 5. Polarity. 6. Earth electrode resistance (TT).

Live tests

7. Earth fault loop impedance (Ze, Zs). 8. Prospective fault current. 9. Check of phase sequence. 10. Functional testing including RCD and AFDD test buttons. 11. Voltage drop (if required).

A4:2026 changes

Part 6 and the Appendix 6 model forms were updated in A4, including a new schedule for recording the resistance of supplementary bonding conductors in medical locations (Section 710). Use the A4 versions of the EIC, MEIWC and EICR forms.
